Birthday celebration for Jehovah Jireh kids

- TK MTIKI

Jehovah Jireh Children’s home in Alexandria last weekend celebrated the October birthdays of five of the centre’s 75 children.

Resident pastor Duncan Mbhele explained that they organise a joint party for all the children born in a particular month in the first week of the following month.

The children enjoyed sweets, juice, ice-cream and other delicious goodies, along with fun games and activities to mark the occasion. Five other children from the centre each received a R100 voucher from Christo Pienaar of SaveMor in Alexandria to buy any product of their choice.

The voucher was a reward for good behaviour and diligence in their school work.

Port Alfred Pick n Pay owner Lucinda van Jaarsveld donated the cake and told the children that she would donate three R500 Pick n Pay clothing vouchers for the top three achievers in the end-of-year exams.
