Joining paws for worthy cause

The Route 72 Saloon in Port Alfred held a pet food drive on Friday 4 November, as well as on Saturday 5 November, in aid of the Port Alfred and Ndlambe District SPCA. The establishment asked only for cat or dog food as an entrance fee to two spectacular events.

The Friday evening saw the band AXYL performing live and the following evening it was local magician Neville Williamson. These two events were extremely successful and led to more than half a tonne of food being collected as well as a donation of money, half of which was given generously by R72 Saloon owner, Geoff Cowley and staff.

“We from the Saloon thank all the support and generosity from our clientele and Neville Williamson for his part in making it such a success,” said Cowley.
