FOR THE LOVE:
Sidbury Primary School grade 3 pupils exploring the great outdoors with Amazwi Museum education officer Basil Mills, who hosted a reading camp for them at the Amakhala Game Reserve on Monday and Tueseay. The pupils received copies of a book Mills wrote and illustrated, ‘How the Sunbird got its Colours’. The camp was organised by literacy activist Cathy Gush of the Lebone Centre, and supported by the Amakhala Foundation and Amazwi Museum. Rhodes University’s centre for social development also gave the children books created from Bookdash events. The children live on local farms and reserves.
