Sunshine Carnival: A weekend of fun for a really good cause

The highly anticipate­d Sunshine Carnival is set to kick off this Friday, April 12 at 10am, promising a delightful experience for all ages. Running until 10pm on both Friday and Saturday, the event will be brimming with entertainm­ent, activities, and delectable treats to enjoy.

The Port Alfred Hospital Cricket Field is the carnival’s site, where attraction­s include 12 thrilling Fun4U rides, 45 vendor and food stalls offering a diverse range of goods, live music performanc­es by local artists, and a variety of engaging family activities such as karaoke, a husband/wife carrying race, a beanbag throwing competitio­n, and group dancing that you can take part in.

Stalls will be offering an array of products, from artwork and clothing to handmade crafts and delectable treats. Notable sponsors such as iHire have contribute­d to the grand entrance, ensuring a warm welcome for all visitors.

For those driving to the event, ample parking will be available on the grass beyond and next to the bowling club parking area, with dedicated parking attendants on-site to assist. It’s important to note that the bowling club parking area is out of bounds.

Entrance is R10 for children aged four to 15 and R30 for adults, with ride prices ranging from R20-R60.

Additional­ly, you’re encouraged to support the cause by sponsoring a child for R200, providing them with transport, rides, a gift bag, and a light meal.
