HISTORY IN ACTION:

Basil Mills brought history and technology to life when he fired a King George V-era twopound cannon at midday at the Bathurst Agricultur­al Museum’s Farm Fair Day on Saturday. The cannon is part of the black-powder drama that SABRE (South African Battle Re-enactments) brings to events in the area. Mills’s detailed explanatio­ns add colour and interest to his demonstrat­ions. The open day was in order to raise much-needed funds for the museum.
