Cartel shoots down helicopter

Purificion – Mexican authorities searched Saturday for three missing soldiers after gunmen brought down their helicopter in a field during an operation against a violent drug cartel in western Jalisco state.

Three other soldiers were killed, while 10 troops and two police officers were hurt on Friday when the assailants hit the Cougar helicopter, forcing an emergency landing. The Jalisco New Generation drug cartel is being blamed. – AFP
