Leadership must rally behind efforts to rebuild ANC

-

Task team to tackle movement’s renewal must be formed, writes Moses Manake from Roodekrans

Ibelieve it’s the right time for ANC members, particularly those in leadership and those honourable ones serving in all spheres of government, to be scientific by thinking out of the box.

It’s a fact that our country and ANC is under siege. This is mainly because they have put their selfish interests above those of the people and the ANC.

I believe factionalism is a vi- rus and has gained momentum in fast-tracking the death of our beloved organisation.

I am calling on all those who are actively participating in factions to desist from injecting our glorious movement with this killer virus. This is an ideal time to rally behind rebuilding a strong and vibrant ANC.

The call for an early elective conference is driven by the views of factions, who believe they have numbers versus honesty and reason.

I believe the national executive committee (NEC) must be disbanded and allow for a national task team to be formed by senior members, who will be tasked with the organisation’s renewal, while uprooting factions and preparing for the elective conference once they are satisfied they have accomplished 70-to-80% of their task.

President Jacob Zuma has a dark cloud hanging over his head and must resign to help restore confidence in the ANC during the healing process.

Leagues and associations must also be disbanded with the NEC, since they are worse than it.
