PRIME TIME: NOMSA NENE WILL MAKE A COMEBACK AFTER 16 YEARS OFF THE SMALL SCREEN

-

Broken Vows explores the various dynamics of love, family rows, voracious lusts and deep dark secrets.

The prime time slot on e.tv is about to get hotter with the addition of a riveting new daily drama, Broken Vows, in April. Broken Vows is set against the backdrop of a family-owned wedding planning company, Yours Truly Wedding Concepts, based in Midrand. The company was founded by well-known businesswoman and Moswane family matriarch, Mam Gertrude, and is run by her youngest daughter Azania and adopted daughter Thandi.

The dynamic duo is renowned for turning couple’s romantic dreams of their big day into a spectacular reality. They’ve mastered the art of dealing with bridezillas, the monster mothers-in-law, demanding family members and even brides who get cold feet at the steps to the altar.

The show explores the various dynamics of love, family feuds, insatiable lusts and deep dark secrets of the Moswane family. It has a gripping storyline with a lot of twists and turns, like when Gertrude’s estranged husband returns with a secret that could change everything for this close-knit family, and threatens the future of the company.

In addition, veteran actress who hosted the Zama Zama game show in the ’90s Nomsa Nene is part of the star-studded cast, marking her return with an exciting new TV role in the series after 16 years off the small screen. Nene takes on the role of Lydia, one of those who started the business.

The drama is produced by Clive Morris Productions, who previously produced two seasons of Safta-nominated Ashes to Ashes. Broken Vows’ executive producer Sipho Gogotya says he is extremely excited about the show.

“We are currently shooting and it’s amazing to see the storyline brought to life by our talented cast. The show will capture the imagination and hearts of many viewers.”

“Clive Morris Productions worked hand-in-hand with us to help us execute our strategy to launch the first telenovela for the channel, Ashes to Ashes. We have no doubt that viewers will be glued to their screens for this one,” said e.tv managing director Marlon Davids.

“Some of the country’s best actors have signed up to be part of this exciting daily drama – and we know that audiences are going to love the characters they’re bringing to life on screen.”

The show makes its debut on Monday, April 10 at 8pm on e.tv and eHD. – Citizen reporter
