SuperSport United and Amajita midfielder Teboho Mokoena (above) says consistency will be key in their quest to finish as one of the top four team’s at the Under-20 Caf Africa Cup of Nations in Zambia which will see them qualify for the Fifa World Cup in South Korea in May.

Amajita won their first match at the tournament 3-1 against Cameroon earlier this week and now face a daunting task against 2015 World Cup semifinalists Senegal at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium this evening.

“If we can keep the same attitude and determination, we will manage to do well,” said the central midfielder, who captained the side against the young Indomitable Lions in the absence of Tercious Malepe.

“It won’t be easy against Senegal, they also want to qualify for the World Cup. But winning this game will be good for us, we just have to work very hard.

“It was our objective to win the first match and we managed to win it.”

With a number of experienced players like Grant Margeman and Phakamani Mahlambi who play first team football for Ajax Cape Town and Bidvest Wits respectively, Mokoena says their knowledge will play a vital role at the tournament, especially when they play good nations like Senegal.

“It does count especially playing against top nations, but again, we have to be united and I think that is what helped us in our first match,” he concluded.

Heading into today’s tie, Senegal will be looking to register their first three points after playing to a 1-1 draw against Sudan in their opening match.
