Wolf to put his name up in lights at Cheltenham

- MAKE MAGIC WITH MORRICE

– NEON WOLF is on the prowl and can justify all the plaudits that have been sent his way in the Neptune Investment Management Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham today.

This unbeaten six-year-old hasn’t come off the bridle in his latest starts at Exeter and Haydock and many shrewd judges regard him as the banker of the week.

London

His trainer Harry Fry deliberated over running his charge in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle but the late defection of Finian’s Oscar through injury from this only added spice to a longer race that will surely play to Neon Wolf’s strengths.

WHISPER can surprise his stablemate Might Bite and bolster his fine record at this course by landing the RSA Novices’ Chase.

The former Coral Cup winner and dual Grade 1 winner over hurdles has taken well to fences and buckled down gamely to land a well contested race here on New Year’s Day.

Davy Russell was a big part of that success and the Irishman, retained by owner Dai Walters, hasn’t put a foot wrong on the nine-year-old so far.

DOLOS can enhance Paul Nicholls’ fine record in the race by taking the Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle in which DIVIN BERE can also run well.

The form of his latest race has worked out especially well, and more important is the fact that his trainer has laid him out for this. Meanwhile, Divin Bere’s chances have been boosted by a recent wind operation.

CAUSE OF CAUSES jumps off the page as a horse who’s been trained with one race in mind all season. That’s why I fancy Gordon Elliott’s nine-year-old to return to winning ways in the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase.
