Action of highest order awaits oval racing enthusiast­s in Brakpan

A full programme of tar oval spectacle will await patrons at the Brakpan Rock raceway this Saturday.

Topping proceeding­s will be races for Outlaw V8 Sprint Cars, with at least ten of the massivey winged and tyred 450 kW monster vehicles taking to the tarmac.

The category for two-litre HotRods will see more than 20 competitor­s facing the starter, which always ensures action of the highest order.

A host of other oval saloon classes will also race, including 1600cc Stock Rods, 1660cc Modified Saloon Cars and Super Saloons.

Open wheelers will include Ninja karts, Micro Midgets and Formula 2 Midgets.

In addition, Formula N cars will wage war around a tricky race circuit, incorporat­ing part of the oval, plus lots of chicanes and tight corners outside the arena.

The venue gates will be open from 10am, with practice sessions for all the competing classes.

Racing proper will commence at 4pm.

Food and drink will be on sale or you may take your own, and everybody may visit the pits on foot at any time.

Admission will cost R65 per adult and R30 per child between the ages of six and 12 years.
