The Citizen (Gauteng)

TOMORROW Auckland Blues v Chiefs 9.35am

-

It all depends which Blues team arrives on the day, but the Chiefs should have too many all-round strengths. Prediction: Chiefs by 10.

Brisbane Reds v Force

11.45am The Force were hammered by the Highlanders last week, while the Reds had a bye and should just edge matters.

Prediction: Reds by less than 10 SATURDAY Tokyo Sunwolves v Cheetahs 7.15am This is at least one game the Cheetahs could win, but the Sunwolves gave the Sharks a good run for their money last weekend. Prediction: Cheetahs by less than nine. Dunedin Highlanders v Waratahs 9.35am No Aussie team has beaten Kiwi opposition this year and it shouldn’t change this time. Prediction: Highlanders by more than 12. Melbourne Rebels v Crusaders 11.45am One almost wants to say poor Rebels. Complacency will be the Crusaders’ biggest challenge. Prediction: Crusaders by 30. Pretoria Bulls v Hurricanes 3.05pm The dark cloud over the once proud Bulls outfit is not going to lift any time soon. Time for the pride to stand up. Prediction: Hurricanes by more than 15. Durban Sharks v Stormers 5.15pm Whenever these two meet it’s always physical and ill-tempered and little too choose between them. Prediction: Sharks by less than eight. Buenos Aires Jaguares v Brumbies 11.40pm The Brumbies are picking up their stride while the Jaguares are busy losing the edge they had earlier in the competition at home. Prediction: Brumbies by 9-12. SUNDAY Johannesburg Lions v Kings 2.30pm The Kings have added a hard edge to their pack and are not the pushovers of previous years. But then the Lions know that. Prediction: Lions by 15. Byes: None.
