Mitsubishi Motors South Africa (MMSA) will be introducin­g its highly-acclaimed allnew Pajero Sport in September 2017.

This stylishly designed new-generation Mitsubishi sport utility offers refined driving dynamics thanks to an array of cutting-edge technologi­cal enhancemen­ts, including a stateof-the-art eight-speed automatic transmissi­on.

The addition of various new driver and passenger luxuries and comforts make the all-new Pajero Sport an everyday pleasure to drive – be it tight city corners, maddening highways or any other dirt or off-road surface.

The genuinely exemplary driving behaviour of the new Pajero Sport is primarily due to the flawless combinatio­n of its impressive high performanc­e, new-generation aluminium cylinder block turbo-diesel engine and its modern high-tech eight-speed automatic transmissi­on (including transfer gearing with low range for the four-wheel drive derivative). The four-wheel drive derivative also boasts the latest edition of Mitsubishi’s unique Super-Select II-4 4WD-system.

Toyota recorded sales in excess of the 10 000 unit mark, delivering 10 506 new vehicles to South African customers last month.

This sales tally resulted in a market share of 23% for the manufactur­er, which outsold its closest peer by 3 059 units. Toyota South Africa now holds the title of market leader for 37 years and six months.

Toyota SUVs remain a firm favourite, with 2 086 SUV sales logged for the month of June. The lion’s share of SUV sales stems from the segment-leading Fortuner’s 1 198 sales. Toyota RAV4 once again topped the small-SUV segment with 553 RAV4s finding new homes last month.

Sales of the new C-HR have stabilised to targeted levels, retailing 167 units in June.

Toyota further strengthen­ed its position in the LCV market by capturing 32.5% segment share, originatin­g from 4 634 LCV sales in June. Hilux was the main LCV contributo­r, thanks to a robust 3 161 units sold in the month.

Other noteworthy achievemen­ts for Toyota for the month of June were the sale of 1 159 Etios vehicles, 435 Avanza units, and a combined 1 420 unit sales of Corolla, Corolla Quest and Auris.

On the premium vehicle front, Lexus garnered a tally of 71 sales for the month. The prestigiou­s Lexus LX contribute­d 25 unit sales to Lexus. In its first launch month, six new owners scooped up the Lexus LC 500 performanc­e coupe.
