Raring to go in the SuperGP
REVVING UP IN KZN: CLINT SELLER IS THE FAVOURITE WITH GREG GILDENHUYS CLOSE BEHIND
SuperJunior championship a three-way affair among Van Der Merwe, Otto, Robert.
The Dezzi Raceway near Port Shepstone will host round six of the 2017 DEOD SuperGP Championship this Saturday. The clear victory favourite in the SuperGP category must be Clint Seller (MiWay Yamaha Racing R1), who has dominated the class since the beginning of the season.
Greg Gildenhuys (Autohaus Towing Kawasaki ZX10R) is the only other rider to have taken a SuperGP win this season. He lies second on the championship log, marginally ahead of Michael White (Consortium Shipping Yamaha R1)
Veteran Lance Isaacs (Supabets BMW S1000RR) is in a strong fourth place ahead of David McFadden (Sandton Auto BMW S1000RR) with Allan-Jon Venter (Team Hygenica Yamaha R1) just a couple of points back in sixth.
In the SuperMasters category Heinrich Rheeder (BMW Motorrad S1000RR) has a slender lead over Johnny Krieger (Team Hygenica Yamaha R1) and Beau Levey (Motos Blu Cru Yamaha R1).
Despite missing the second round of the championship due to international commitments, Steven Odendaal (Petra Yamaha R6) is only five points adrift of Super600 championship leader Hayden Jonas (MiWay Yamaha R6).
Blaze Baker (Uncle Andy Suzuki GSXR600) is next up with Aiden Liebenberg (Fercor Construction Kawasaki ZX6), Jesse Boshoff (Phoenix Payroll Kawasaki ZX6) and Malcolm Rudman (Montclair Motorcycles Kawasaki ZX6) not far behind.
The SuperJunior championship battle has turned into a three-way affair between Taric van der Merwe (Evolve Nutrition KTM390), Ricardo Otto (Inex Construction KTM390) and Tyreece Robert (KTM390).
The trio have a comfortable lead over the rest of the pack and it is hard to see anyone else challenging for the title with just three rounds to go. The national championship categories will be supported by regional races.
