KEEPING UP WITH THE KARDASHIAN­S: A DECADE OF REALITY TV 10 years on the scene and still going strong.

K eeping Up with the Kardashian­s, which is celebratin­g a decade in the reality TV series space, has grown steadily from a docu-series into a global phenomenon.

From break-ups to make-ups, weddings, births and all the drama in between, fans have “kept up” with the family’s constant evolution.

The first season, in 2007, introduced the world to Hollywood’s royal family of Ks – sisters Kim, Khloé, Kourtney, Kendall and Kylie and their mother Kris Kardashian.

Since its debut, fans of the series have lived each jaw-dropping moment which has seen the Kardashian name turn into a lucrative business with a net worth of over R 600 million.

Executive vice-president for programmin­g and developmen­t at E! Jeff Olde says “since the show’s inception 10 years ago, viewers have watched the family evolve, grow and become a huge part of today’s pop culture zeitgeist”.

“In celebratin­g the family’s decade on air, we are extremely grateful for the fans all over the world who have ‘kept up’ since the beginning.”

To commemorat­e this achievemen­t, hosting channel E! Entertainm­ent showcased a Look Book Special on the Kardashian and Jenner sisters’ fashion style and signature looks.

The series ran from September from the 12 to 16.

It will be followed up with reruns of the past decade, where fans will be given the opportunit­y to catch up on every episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashian­s ever aired.

On Monday, a 90-minute Keeping Up with the Kardashian­s 10year anniversar­y special will air at 8pm.

Host and executive producer of the series and special, Ryan Seacrest, sits down with Kris to reflect on the most monumental events in their lives.

Throughout the years, the family has remained genuine, compassion­ate and vulnerable with the viewers, and this special will delve into what it’s been like for the family to live all the triumphs and hardships in front of the camera.

Fans of the show will also get an opportunit­y to vote for their favourite episodes to be showcased on October 7 by voting on the E! Africa Facebook page.

Then, after a heavy and eventful year, a new fun and flirty 14th season of the reality series returns on October 8th at 8pm.

From backyard camping and wine tasting in Santa Barbara to jet-setting to Mexico for birthday shenanigan­s, the family is determined to get back to basics, but not without some challenges along the way.

Kim debates removing herself from the spotlight to focus on her family after the traumatic experience in Paris.

Meanwhile, as Khloé’s relationsh­ip with Tristan heats up, she stresses over how to blend her two

premieres on October 8 at 8pm on E! (DStv Channel 124)

lives.

As Kourtney is burdened over how to unapologet­ically embrace her single life while co-parenting with Scott, Kendall finds herself under an immense amount of pressure as she struggles with being in the public eye and the rest of the family is along for the unpredicta­ble ride. It’s a must-view for K fans.
