Pirates chase third win in a row against Polokwane City.
Orlando Pirates coach Micho Sredojevic says he wakes up every day even more motivated to help the club do well because he is a big fan of the club and his mission is to make their fans happy ahead of their clash with Polokwane City at the Orlando Stadium today.
The Serb has certainly managed to make the Ghost happy so far this year.
The Buccaneers have collected six points after beating Baroka FC and Mamelodi Sundowns recently to move to fifth spot in the Absa Premiership with 26 points after 17 games.
“Before being a coach, I’m a supporter. I’m Pirates deep inside myself,” said the Bucs coach.
“Happiness among our supporters is something that is unbelievable and it is an injection of motivation to all of us at the club.
“We know we have the greatest quality but we don’t want to be arrogant and say we are the best. What we want to do is to make sure we become the most motivated team to ensure we make our people happy.”
Meanwhile, winger Luvuyo Memela has had a great start to the second round of the season, scoring three goals and getting the Man-of-the-Match award in consecutive games.
With such a good start into the new year, the winger hopes his form will persist, but adds that what would make him really happy is to see the team continuing to win their games and move to the top of the league table.
“All players want to play at their best at all times but it’s not always possible. I would like to continue scoring like I have in the last two matches. But the most important thing for me right now is to see us winning games and moving up the table,” Memela said.
A win against Rise and Shine will see Bucs earn their third consecutive victory.
The Polokwane outfit, however, will certainly be not an easy side to brush off and will be looking to get back to winning ways after losing 2-1 to Kaizer Chiefs in their previous league game, having started the year with a 3-2 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns.
