Marcus to blow hot at Greyville

- Viv Greybe

Sticking with top-flight jockey Anton Marcus could be a profitable exercise for punters tomorrow night at the Greyville Polytrack where he has a promising book of rides.

His first mount of the evening is Howells-trained Fire Song who contests Race 3, a Maiden Plate over 1400m. This three-year-old comes off three placed runs at the venue – the last of which was an encouraging second over 1800m. The colt should not miss this time over the shorter distance with a good inside draw.

Marcus is likely to claim a major share of the spoils in the Pick 6 and All-To-Come bets could be a proposition. Watch out for him in Race 6 when aboard Rivalland-trained La Ferrari who bids for a third career win from just five starts.

His mount Kapen Pride out of Kannemeyer’s stable looks the part in Race 7. This three-year-old showed smart progress in his two runs since being gelded – and Marcus could close the meeting on a winning note with Bosch-trained Laat Lammetjie in Race 8.
