EASTER EXTRAVAGANZA: FILL YOUR BASKET WITH THESE EXPERIENCES

- Adriaan Roets

Tsogo Sun is pulling the stops out to entertain families this weekend.

Let’s be honest, this weekend is about family, friends and chocolate. And while Easter weekend provides you with some extra time off, it also presents a bevy of special events and activities you can sink your teeth into, after biting into an Easter egg of course. Tsogo Sun’s SunBreaks promotion runs across 22 hotels in five provinces until April 10 when sunseekers, holidaymakers and fun-lovers will receive a 25% discount with the offer of a stay for four nights paying for three.

Essentially that means more fun at less cost. But to sweeten the pot in Gauteng over the Easter long weekend, both Montecasino and Silverstar are transforming into holiday playgrounds with activities for the whole family. So even if you’re not staying there, you can still partake in the fun.

At Silverstar, special kids’ entertainment includes jumping castles (with child minders), a maze for Easter egg and treasure hunts and games for kids and adults like quizzes, jigsaw puzzles and crosswords. There’s also face-painting and movie screenings throughout the long weekend. Oh, and on Easter Monday, April 2, a pop-up market will be set up from 10am to 5pm. Take the N14 towards Pretoria, and get off on the R511 and mozy on down to Montecasino where the fun continues. The Piazza will be transformed into a play area for children of all ages. Giant inflatables will have kids and adults jumping for joy, or try the Bungee Experience, or the Nerf Gun War. At the Montecasino Bird Gardens, there will be two exciting treasure hunts on Sunday April 1 (at 11.30am and 1.30pm) for 200 children at each event. There’s a number of other Easter deals running alongside the Easter festivities at Silverstar and Montecasino, for more information visit tsogosun. com. Chocolate-maker Beacon will be giving sweets to the kids at each treasure hunt stop, the Easter Bunny will hand out Easter eggs, and face painters will add to the day’s delights. Food will be fabulous at both Silverstar and Montecasino, with special Easter offers at many of the restaurants, roaming food vendors and cocktails and ice-cold beers for the adults. Montecasino will also have a Sally Williams tuk-tuk, two icecream bicycles, special smoothies and fruit crushes from Fego Caffe and Col’Cacchio Pizzeria will be making pizzas especially for kids. Take a Tsogo Sun break, and join the Easter fun.
