JZ, 76, welcomes new baby and young bride, 26

-

Former president Jacob Zuma will be getting married – again, according to a reliable source close to the Zuma family.

His bride to be is 26-year-old Nonkanyiso Conco. Other reports have placed her age at 24, but The Citizen understands she is 26.

Zuma and his family have apparently already paid lobola for her and both families are understood to be happy with the union. Polygamy is common in Zulu culture and tradition.

A source close to them told Saturday Citizen: “Both families are ecstatic. [Zuma] promised that he will marry the girl after his presidency, and he has kept that promise.”

The family are yet to make an official announcement about the engagement.

When Saturday Citizen called senior family member Ray Zuma on the matter, he said Zuma was no longer the president and was living his life as a more private citizen.

His personal life should, therefore, not be seen as something for the “public to see a problem with”, he said. Meanwhile, Conco, confirmed to TimesLive late yesterday that they will be wed.

The Ballito resident will be Zuma’s seventh bride and is more than 50 years younger than him.

It has also been confirmed that she gave birth to Zuma’s child on the former president’s 76th birthday on April 12.
