E-commerce giant is eyeing Egypt

Jumia wants to make Egypt its biggest market in Africa, and it’s turning to unlicensed vendors for help.

Jumia wants 10-fold growth in revenue from Egypt and sixfold growth in the number of products on its platform to 12 million by 2021. Jumia Egypt’s CEO Hesham Safwat is urging the government to offer informal traders tax incentives and cheap loans so they can market online. – Bloomberg
