Banele’s hot property

Bidvest Wits are set to face some competition in their chase for Swazi playmaker Banele Sikhondze (above), as another Absa Premiership team are said to have also enquired about Sikhondze’s availability. A source told Phakaaathi that Wits had already made contact with Sikhondze’s club Mbabane Swallows but the talks had not yet been wrapped up. “There is now another club who are preparing an offer for the player but we will wait and see what happens. There are also clubs from North Africa who have been monitoring him,” said the source. Sikhondze went on trial at Black Leopards in 2014 but the clubs could not reach an agreement despite the player impressing.
