-

Wi-Fi in your washing machine? You bet.

Home owners have become more cautious, and home tech is no exception. But major appliances are often overlooked. While it’s great to have energy saving bulbs, have you replaced items like your washing machine or fridge to help put a damper on your water and electricity bill, but also get you through chores quicker and more efficiently?

WASH AWAY THE BLUES AND STAINS

LG’s new washing machines enables you to experience what people all over the world have been longing for: the ability to simultaneously wash two separate loads of laundry at once. With a main washer and mini-washer that can be operated independently or simultaneously, the new TwinWash enables users to wash laundry items which require separate settings, such as colours and whites, normal and delicate items.

Not only does new machines significantly reduce washing time by allowing for two loads to be cleaned simultaneously, completing both wash cycles in 49 minutes. “The TwinWash technology has emerged as one of the top upand-coming innovations, while creating a new genre, within the laundry industry. We are excited to finally launch this groundbreaking product in South Africa. The top loader boasts a 12kg wash capacity and the mini-washer has 2kg capacity, perfect for a quick wash of delicate clothing,” said Sulette Jacobs, LG’s assistant product manager for home appliances.

In addition to the powerful main front-load washer and convenient mini-washer, the washing machine comes with an eco-hybrid dryer function. Fully equipped with wi-fi connectivity, the machine allows users to easily control and monitor the appliance from anywhere as well as download wash cycles via the download cycle feature, track energy use through the energy monitoring feature and diagnose problems via the smart diagnosis programme on a connected device.

KNOCK-ON EFFECT

But ultra tech comes alive with the new InstaView Door-in-Door refrigerator. The refrigerator that allows you to see what’s inside without opening the door. InstaView Door-in-Door boasts a panel that is illuminated when the panel is knocked on twice. This allows you to see inside without opening the door and letting cold air out.

The refrigerator’s storage space can also be accessed using the hidden button under the door while also giving users a wider view of the items stored inside.

The InstaView Door-in-Door is fully compatible with LG’s SmartThinQ, allowing users to control their refrigerator using their smartphone from outside the home. You can set the refrigerator temperature, a number of features and diagnose appliance problems all from the connected application.
