Bremner and Hewitson to come out firing

- Viv Greybe

Trainer Yvette Bremner and champion apprentice Lyle Hewitson look the combination to follow at the Fairview Polytrack today, and their first strike should come in Race 1 with March Music who contests a Maiden Juvenile Plate for two-year-old fillies over 1300m.

This daughter of Bold Silvano had Hewitson aboard in her two runs on grass at Fairview where she was a bright 0.5-length runner-up over 1000m. Then going off at long odds again she was a gallant fast-finishing 0.75-length second to two-time winner Madame Speaker at level weights in the 1400m Lady’s Slipper (Listed).

Dropping back to the maidens this time, she should prove too good for her opposition. She could be followed home by Domremy, first-timer Bataclan and French Nobility.

The combination has a bright chance of success with three-time winner Zaida in Race 7, a MR 64 Handicap (F&M) over 1000m.

This mare’s last two wins were on the Polytrack, and her only unplaced run at the venue since was in her penultimate outing when she was reported striding short after having kicked her starting stall gate.

However, she confirmed she is fit well next time with a promising 0.75-length second.

The combination could close the meeting on a winning note with four-time winner Candy Crush in Race 8 and top-rated event, a MR 74 Handicap over 1000m.
