This could be a dress rehearsal for the quarterfinals next week between the same two sides with the Hurricanes well set to secure a fourth spot and a home quarterfinal, with 50 log points against the Chiefs 45 in fifth spot. Prediction: Canes by eight. 11.45am Brisbane Reds v Sunwolves The Reds surprised the Rebels last week and will be keen to end a disappointing season on a high against the Sunwolves who fell apart last week against the Waratahs, admittedly after receiving a red card. Prediction: Reds by 18. Saturday 7.15am Dunedin Highlanders v Rebels It’s the Rebels last opportunity to qualify for the play-offs unless the Sharks fail to do the business in Durban, but at home the Highlanders have been a very tough team to beat this year and should secure their sixth spot on the overall log. Prediction: Highlanders by 13.

9.35am Christchurch Crusaders v Blues Despite running away with the log standings, the Crusaders machine just keeps marching on and will use the game to fine-tune their gameplan ahead of hosting either the Sharks or the Rebels in next weekend’s quarterfinals. Prediction: Crusaders by 15. 11.45am Sydney Waratahs v Brumbies The Waratahs have already won the Aussie Conference but need this result to keep their noses ahead of the Lions for that vital second spot on the combined log and could face the Jaguares in the play-offs next weekend. Prediction: Waratahs by 10.

3.05pm Lions v Bulls

Ellis Park For the Lions it’s a must-win game if they want to secure a home quarterfinal spot but in the Bulls, they will be approached by a team who won’t make it easy for them and will be eager to end a long losing run to the Lions. Prediction: Lions by 11.

5.15pm Sharks v Jaguares

Durban The Sharks need to win and also hope other results go their way, while the Jaguares still have a remote chance to top the SA Conference should the Lions be surprised by the Bulls in the game just prior to their clash. Prediction: Sharks by six. Bye: Stormers
