Run To Denmark could sprint to victory

After making up an impressive amount of ground late on to only go down 0.50-lengths on debut, Andre Nel’s Run To Denmark will take some beating in Race 3 at Kenilworth tomorrow.

Languishing at the tail 400m out after going off at long odds, this Black Minnalouche colt took off as if his tail was on fire once getting the idea, and in a few more strides would have robbed well tried Photocopy of an overdue maiden win.

The Nel yard are not known for lining them up on debut, so he can be expected to have come on for the experience.

In terms of opposition there is a likely big improver in Candice Bass Robinson’s Nao Faz Mal, while Carlas Mambo and Sandy Sport both have enough form to merit respect as well.

Brett Crawford and Mike Robinson unveil three first timers apiece in this race, and obviously any serious betting support should be respected, but it will take a well above average debutante to beat Run To Denmark.

A value bet that appeals is Giant Flag in Race 7. This burly son of Jay Peg relished going 2000m last time, and won full of running.

He now goes 400m further at lowly MR 66 level in his post maiden appearance, and can be expected to be even better over this trip.

A definite Eachway chance at what should be a fair price.

Troop The Colour, The Silva Fox and Room At The Top make most appeal of the balance.
