Unnecessary stop signs wasting fuel
Bob Gillies is so right about needless stop signs.
During 1992/93 year, the Beacon Bay municipality removed nearly all the stop signs.
I was operating a driving school at the time, using a Nissan Sentra 1300 and a Toyota Corolla 1300.
The result of the change to giveways was less brake and clutch repairs, less tyre wear and the petrol depot at the harbour reported a drop in sales of 2% of all brands on average.
If one suburb in East London could save that much, what could a whole country save?
