Miners must also shoulder blame

Although I do not condone the actions of the police when they killed so many miners at Marikana, I believe the miners who started the killing should also take some blame.

After seeing the face of a dead security guard which was hacked to pieces with a panga and the killing of two police officers, I am sure the police were very angry.

This, and the lack of training, led to a disaster. I commend Bheki Cele for recognising the problems within the police force – understaffed and undertrained. Wilby
