Mokoena nears deal

Former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns forward Lebogang Mokoena (right) is trying his luck at Maccabi FC, where he is said to be close to landing a deal. Mokoena has not had much luck since leaving the Buccaneers some years ago with most of his time at Downs spent recovering from injuries. He was at Ajax Cape Town last season but didn’t manage to get much game time there either. “I think he has either signed or will sign soon for Maccabi. The coach (Mokete Tsotetsi) knows him quite well and his trial was just to check on his fitness more than anything. He had impressed as far as I know,” said a source close to the side.
