South Africa’s economy could nosedive
If American president Donald Trump, pictured, starts with sanctions against South Africa due to his disapproval of expropriation of lands, our economy will nosedive.
Just have a look at what is transpiring in Turkey.
We will see the rand at R20 to the dollar and interest rates and job losses will go up.
R800 billion of taxpayers’ money has vanished at the hands of corrupt government officials in tendering frauds.
The matter of the fact is that government has not proven itself able to run the country’s economy soundly.
Also, political whims and fancies on land expropriation, no evictions and the proposed nationalisation of the Reserve Bank are all being done for votes at the next general election.
These things will cripple us even further. Baba Saloojee
