UN shields kids from ebola

-

The United Nations Children’s Fund has ramped up its support for children in areas of the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo affected by ebola as the country prepares for the upcoming school year.

This includes scaling up education, sanitation and hygiene programmes. In the affected provinces, teachers will be trained on ebola prevention and teaching children good hygiene practices to stop the virus spreading.

To ensure schools are ready for early detection, Unicef is distributing laser thermometers, hand-washing units and warning posters. – ANA
