Gridiron’s Elvis has le the NFL
– Elvis Dumervil, the American son of Haitian immigrants, voted to five Pro Bowl all-star games in his 11 seasons as an NFL defensive end, announced his retirement this week on social media.
“My body still feels great and I know I can still help a team win,” Dumervil said in a statement posted on Twitter. “I will miss being on the field, particularly on Sundays, but I also have a wife and two young children that need me.”
Dumervil, 34, played for the Denver Broncos from 2006 to 2012, missing the entire 2010 campaign with a torn pectoral muscle, and spent 2013 to 2016 with the Baltimore Ravens before his final season last year with the San Francisco 49ers. –
