There are more ways to skin a cat

I’m dismayed by the looting of foreigners’ shops and subsequent loss of life. This is so uncalled for.

The best the people of Soweto should have done if the Pakistanis or whoever else were selling poor-quality goods was to call for a boycott of their shops. This would have solved the problem without any threat of violence and subsequent risk of arrest.

It’s so simple: put them out of business legally by not patronising their shops. There are malls and shopping centres in Soweto and almost every other township.
