Sluggish Simbine fi h in 100m

Sprinter Akani Simbine struggled on Friday night, settling for fifth place in the men’s 100m race at the Diamond League finals in Brussels.

The national record holder crossed the line in 10.03 seconds, bringing an end to the 14-leg top-flight campaign. American Christian Coleman won in 9.79.

Simbine is set to compete again in Ostrava, joining 19 SA athletes in the African team at the Continental Cup. – Wesley Botton
