Another SA mark falls to Semenya

-

Caster Semenya continued her brilliant form, shattering another national record at the IAAF World Challenge meeting in Berlin yesterday.

Semenya won the 1 000m race in 2:30.70, breaking her own South African mark of 2:31.01 over the rarely run distance, which she had set in Rabat in July.

She climbed to fifth place in the all-time women’s world 1 000m rankings, less than two seconds off the pace of the 22-year-old world record (2:28.98) held by Russian Svetlana Masterkova. – Wesley Botton
