Nuclear plant back online

Tokyo – Power was restored to a nuclear energy plant in Hokkaido, Japan, yesterday after an earthquake left it relying on generators for 10 hours.

The situation at the Tomari nuclear plant provided an uncomfortable echo of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in 2011. Reactors there melted down after a tsunami knocked out generators designed to cool them in emergencies. – Reuters
