Ronaldo is Serie A’s mega earner

The salary figures for Serie A have been revealed with Cristiano Ronaldo predictably the highest-paid player by a country mile.

This season the total wage bill for the league is 1.1-billion Euros. Ronaldo’s salary of 31-million Euros net is more than three times that of Gonzalo Higuain, who is in second place with 9.5-million Euros. Paulo Dybala is third with his salary of 7-million Euros per season and six of the top 10 players in terms of salary play for Juventus.

Despite finishing second last year, Napoli’s salary budget is only the fifth highest in Serie A, less than half that of Juventus and also less than AC Milan, Inter and Roma. Empoli have the lowest in the division at 16-million Euros per year - a figure that would pay Ronaldo’s salary for around half a season.
