Former player wins his appeal
Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Thandani Ntshumayelo is free to play again after successfully appealing the length of a ban for the use of cocaine.
Ntshumayelo tested positive for cocaine after playing for Pirates in a match against Platinum Stars in January 2016 and was subsequently banned from playing for four years.
Pirates terminated Ntshumayelo’s contract, but he has now had the ban reduced from four to two years, meaning the 28-yearold can play again.
“The panel found in his favour and reduced his sanction to two years,” said Mpho Sethaba of Fluxmans Attorneys. – ANA
