Fiat 500 is sporty, sassy and sociable

Petrol heads, Alfisti and other motoring enthusiasts who prefer hatches that dial the hot-and-fun factor up to 11, saw the new Fiat 500S being unveiled at the recent Festival of Motoring at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.

Sporty, sassy, seductive and sociable. There’s always something special hiding inside a Fiat 500S that boasts a race-inspired spoiler, mags, red brake xalipers and sports steering wheel. Further enhancing its visual appeal is its gorgeous Italian Blue metallic paintwork that means drivers will certainly not go unnoticed on South Africa’s roads.

Beyond its killer looks, the Fiat 500S has enough power to back up its sporty looks. Under the bonnet resides an 875cc two-cylinder power plant that churns out 77kW at 5 500rpm and 145Nm of torque at just 2 000rpm. This is enough for the car to hit 100km/h in 10sec and go on to achieve a top speed of 190km/h, it is said. All this, while keeping fuel usage down to a mere 4.2 litres per 100km.
