Gang’s sentences too lenient

If victim who was hacked to death was your family, would you be happy? asks Bob Gillies.

The vicious Limpopo gang which kidnapped, raped, murdered and robbed people for ten years was at last apprehended. Why did it take so long? The one member only got 10 years for hacking a man to death with an axe! If that victim had been your son, father or uncle, would you be happy seeing the murderer get a sentence of 10 years?

I am sure the family would have voted for capital punishment – eradicate the guilty one and he has no more costs to the state.

The others got a mere six years each so they will still be young men when released, but coming out of prison as far more experienced criminals due to being mentored by hardened ones during their stay.

Only capital punishment will get the message across to criminals like this.
