Criminals are not afraid of SA’s weak laws

More police offiicers are needed, says Baba Saloojee from Rustenburg

Criminals have a free ride in South Africa. The statistics showing the high rate of murders, killing with knives, arson and common robberies all reflect that the law is not strong enough and criminals are not afraid.

Ultimately, citizens’ lives are at stake. Women are being raped and abused and things like pangas should be banned.

What is really required in SA is a full survey of how parliament is going to change the laws to protect citizens in the long run. They must be kept safe. And how is government going to combat crime, which needs to be tackled with a show of might?

Government needs more police officers and investigations into corrupt cops.

The scenario of high crime will continue to Doomsday unless drastic new laws and steps are introduced and implemented.

Innocent citizens live in misery and fear 24/7 and they do not have the freedom of movement in towns and cities.
