Please privatise SA Post Office

Last Friday, I was amazed to see a man, with no uniform, delivering mail to the complex in which I reside. I have been awaiting a letter from overseas with some important documents which was posted in the United Kingdom on Thursday, March 8.

The tracker system shows it to be in South Africa since Monday, March 12.

I looked at the mail dropped into my box and thought for a moment I was at last getting lucky when I noticed that one of the letters was postmarked March 1!

No such luck. All of the mail was way past its use-by date and, of course, no letter from the UK.

Surely it is time that the South African Post Office should be sold to private enterprise! Tom Lambe, Oakdene
