‘Tariffs won’t hurt China’
Tianjin – The US’s trade actions against China won’t work as China has ample fiscal and monetary policy tools to cope with the impact, a securities market official said yesterday.
Fang Xinghai, vice-chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, said he hopes the two sides can sit down and negotiate on trade, and that he looks forward to good China-US trade relations.
US President Donald Trump this week imposed 10% tariffs on billions of dollars worth of Chinese imports. – Reuters
