Honest, visible policing needed

-

Older generation have nowhere to go to escape crime, writes Garry from Montana Park.

Fifty-seven murders per day in South Africa – we live in a country where fear prevails. The older generation have nowhere to go and have to encapsulate themselves in a cocoon for protection, fearful to be on roads or in shopping malls.

The younger generation, students and young professionals, are arming themselves with the right tools to enable them to leave the country and raise their families in a relatively safe country.

The young who cannot afford to educate themselves to this level are becoming the new breed of criminal.

What is the solution to this problem? Simple, honest and visible policing with a legal system that can process felons within forty-eight hours.
