The Citizen (Gauteng)

Oxford United’s logo may be a scary-looking bull, but they will be hardly intimidating to Manchester City, whom they meet in a League Cup game at Kassam Stadium tonight. Football can be very unpredictable sometimes and we have in the past witnessed results that left us with our jaws on the floor.

But for one to even dream of Oxford beating City, he or she would have to have been overly excited at the legalisation of marijuana. This has to be one of the easiest games that Pep Guardiola’s side have played.

Buoyed by the prospect of causing a massive upset, Oxford will come out all guns blazing and try to disrupt City with an early goal or two but they will find the doors locked and go back with their tails between the legs.

I give City an easy win here, even if they don’t use their regulars for this match. A big win is my prediction, in a competition that City won last year, before going on to win the English Premier League in a memorable campaign.
