Justify's Stud Fee Set at $150,000

Coolmore America has announced that US Triple Crown winner Justify will stand for $150,000 during his first breeding season at Ashford Stud in Versailles, Kentucky.

Bloodhorse.com reports that Justify’s stud fee was released on Sunday, along with fees for Ashford’s stallion roster, with Mendelssoh­n, who finished second in the 25 August Runhappy Travers Stakes (Grade 1), the only horse whose fee has not been determined.

Fellow Triple Crown winner American Pharoah, who swept the American classics in 2015, will stand for $110,000 in 2019 after he had a private fee in 2018.

Another new stallion on the Ashford roster is Mo Town at $12,500.

This son of Uncle Mo won the 2016 Remsen Stakes (Grade 2) and the 2017 Hollywood Derby (Grade 1) during his 10-race career. Uncle Mo’s fee will hold steady at $125,000 in 2019. his main target, but a trip to the Breeders' Cup remains in the melting pot and Gosden is open to the idea of running his charge on the dirt for the first time at Churchill Downs. under double figure odds.

Waller also has Golden Rosewinnin­g three-year-old The Autumn Sun among the Cox Plate second acceptors along with Comin' Through, D'Argento, Egg Tart, Shillelagh, Tom Melbourne and Unforgotte­n.

Five internatio­nally trained horses remain in the mix including the Saeed Bin Suroor-trained Benbatl and fellow Godolphino­wned horses Blair House and Emotionles­s who are trained by Charlie Appleby.

Aidan O'Brien, who trained Adelaide to win the 2014 Cox Plate, has Cliffs Of Moher and Rostropovi­ch among the second acceptance­s. –
