Stream Ahead to show the way on Polytrack
Viv Greybe
Gavin van Zyl-trained Stream Ahead has been unplaced only once since having posted a decisive maiden win with Warren Kennedy up at Scottsville, and the combination has a bright chance to make it a winning debut at the Greyville Polytrack this evening when contesting Race 6 and main event, the Korea Racing Authority Handicap over 2000m.
That unplaced run can be excused as it was the colt’s first outing after a rest when competing in the 1400m Gatecrasher Stakes (Listed) on grass at Greyville where he was reported to be pulling and hanging and his rider had dropped his whip as well.
The three-year-old confirmed his current well being in his two subsequent runs when running on stoutly from off the pace to finish third over 1600m and 1400m at Scottsville. He will relish the extra distance this time and with Kennedy up again will be tough to beat with only 52kg on his back.
His main rival could be Frank Robinson-trained Top Classman. However, both will have to be on guard against top-weight Warfarer out of Lezeanne Forbes’ stable with Mark Khan up. Also worthy of consideration is seasoned campaigner Hyaku while Silver Rose and Hero Quest make most appeal of the remainder.
The suggested TAB Double for this meeting is 7 Quakeshake (Race 4) and 10 Forceful Rush (Race 5).
