McCarthy lifts lid on future coaching dream
Benni McCarthy (below) hinted that he is harbouring a dream of coaching one of the country’s so-called big clubs. The Cape Town City mentor joked that the big clubs will be watching him with keen interest now that he has guided City to the MTN8 trophy. “The bigger teams might be looking at us now. I think my chairman might have a problem keeping his coaching staff together now,” said McCarthy. The 40-year-old was touted for the Orlando Pirates job before Milutin Sredojevic was appointed. Pirates is where he ended his playing career and he has stated he would like to coach them one day.
