SA rescue teams go to Indonesia

South African disaster relief group Gift of the Givers is sending rescue teams to earthquake-hit Indonesia.

The non-governmental organisation said it had been waiting for an international assistance call from the Indonesian president after the 7.5 magnitude earthquake and tsunami which killed at least 1 234 people, before intervening.

Gift of the Givers’ search and rescue teams will depart for Indonesia today. – ANA
