As a former Bloemfontein Celtic player, Thapelo Morena (right) knows the strengths and weaknesses of the Steve Komphela-led side that he and his Mamelodi Sundowns team-mates face at the Dr Molemela Stadium tonight.

The Brazilians are three games behind schedule in the league, but sit comfortably in the top half of the table and four points behind Phunya Sele Sele.

“We know how they are going to come at us. We know their style of play and it will be a difficult game because we need the three points,” said Morena.

The pacey winger said credit should be given to his Celtic counterparts for their level of professionalism and being able to con- tinue winning games in the midst of a financial crisis at the club.

“They have been having challenges, the ones we have been reading about in the newspapers, but I don’t think they will take that into the game. They are going to be motivated because they are playing Sundowns and they will want to give their best. They want to stay at the top and we want to climb up so it is going to be a difficult game.

“They very often convert most of their chances and the centrebacks and wingbacks like to go forward, so we have to deal with that because we know their weaknesses and we know their strong points,” added Morena, who is beaming after receiving a Bafana Bafana call-up for Stuart Baxter’s side that will face Seychelles on October 13 and 16.
