If you feel like a limp dish cloth, see the ‘Comedy Doctor’ and get a cure for the ’40s blues

-

Riaad Moosa, pictured, is one of the biggest names in local comedy and he will unleash his special brand of humour at Sibaya’s iZulu Theatre on October 12 and 13. If you wonder if life really begins at 40, go and listen to him take on this topic in his hilarious, one-man stand-up show called Life Begins.

Being a father of four, a husband, comedian and actor, while taking in the constant political and cultural changes around you and being 40 cannot be an easy task. Unless you see the lighter side of life, as Moosa obviously does. In this show, he cures the 40s blues with a strong dose of hilarity. He describes the show as a philosophical and existential look at aging issues. “Although I am 40, in many ways I feel like I’m still crawling and I look back at my journey from being an aspirational doctor, coming from a relatively conservative Muslim background, where both my parents were doctors, and the journey to becoming a stand-up comedian.”

Moosa is a qualified doctor but he has never practised because acting and comedy stole his heart. His nickname is the “Comedy Doctor”.
